You have probably found that your air compressor is handy for a host of different projects, from powering some of your tools to pumping up the tires on your car when you need to. If you take good care of your air compressor, you can count on it to last you for as long as possible and to work properly in the meantime. These are a few tips that can help you keep your air compressor up and running as it's supposed to.
1. Keep Parts Tightened
First of all, you should know that your air compressor might vibrate a little bit while you are using it. Occasionally, this could cause some parts to become loose. Luckily, this should be an easy fix by simply checking the hoses, nuts and bolts periodically and tightening them up when they need it. If any of them appear to be worn out, you can always swap them out to keep your machine working well; this is especially important with the hoses, which can become loose and worn-out after a lot of use.
2. Keep it Clean
Your air compressor will attract dirt and debris, so you will need to do what you can to keep it nice and clean. When the machine is powered off, dust off the intake vents to get rid of any excess debris. Additionally, you should change the filter on your air compressor as advised in the owner's manual. This will help ensure that there is a nice, clean filter in place to help catch any debris that gets pulled into the machine from the air.
3. Take Care of the Tank
The water tank on your air compressor should be taken care of if you want to prevent any problems. It is critical to drain it on a daily basis after you are finished with the machine for the day so that you can help prevent rust from forming in the tank. There are also special treatments that you can add to the tank to help with this problem, or you can thoroughly clean out the tank periodically in order to prevent any issues with your machine.
As you can see, there are various tips that you can follow if you would like to keep your air compressor in good condition. If you follow these three tips, you should find that your machine lasts longer and works as it is supposed to so that you can get a variety of jobs done.Share
